Black Friday 2025 deals have come early and, while I'm hunting down great bargains across all categories tech in my dedicated live coverage of the best early Black Friday deals in Australia, I'm a home appliances expert as well.

That includes testing and writing about vacuum cleaners, trying out new hair styling tools and even reviewing air purifiers. And there's one name in the industry that does all of these in style – Dyson.

Best Black Friday Dyson deals

Vacuums

Dyson Gen5detect Complete
Save 41% (AU$650)
Dyson Gen5detect Complete: was AU$1,599 now AU$949 at Dyson Australia

It's been succeeded by the V16 Piston Animal as the most powerful Dyson yet, but the suction here is still superb. And this is the Complete variant, meaning it's a Dyson exclusive that gets you every single attachment (6 in total) along with 2 cleaning heads – the Digital Motorbar and the Fluffy Optic. You'll also get the Dyson Free Dok Multi, which is a free-standing dock to stow it all away.

Dyson Gen5detect Absolute
Save 48% (AU$740)
Dyson Gen5detect Absolute: was AU$1,549 now AU$809 at eBay

This whopping discount via the official Dyson eBay Store is absolutely a steal, beating last year's Black Friday price by AU$10. If you don't need 6 attachments and the freestanding dock, this version of the Gen5detect might be better value for you. You'll get 2 cleaning heads and 2 attachments in the box, which isn't bad at all. Be sure to use the checkout code SAVENOV for the full discount.

Dyson V15s Detect Submarine Absolute
Save 49% (AU$755)
Dyson V15s Detect Submarine Absolute: was AU$1,549 now AU$794 at The Good Guys

Dyson's original wet-dry cordless stick vacuum is pretty handy to have around the home – you can vacuum first and then follow it up with a mop. I still use it at home and, in my Dyson V15s Detect Submarine review, I found the mopping to be very good indeed but a design flaw makes some of that dirty water slosh out when you want to clean out the Submarine attachment. If you can find a way around it, this is one could be well worth considering. Note that The Good Guys' price-beat offer could score you this model for AU$779 at the time of writing.

Dyson V15 Detect Absolute
Save 52% (AU$750)
Dyson V15 Detect Absolute: was AU$1,449 now AU$699 at eBay

It might be getting a little long in the tooth but the V15 Detect is still arguably the best Dyson you can buy. And this price on eBay with the checkout code SAVENOV added is excellent value indeed! It's lighter than the models that came after it, runs up to 60 minutes on a single charge (albeit in low suction and non-motorised tools), and the Fluffy Optic is a game changer for cleaning fine particles off hard floors.

Dyson V11 Advanced
Save 44% (AU$524)
Dyson V11 Advanced: was AU$1,199 now AU$675 at Dyson Australia

It was down to AU$569 on Amazon previously and proved so popular, stocks ran out. While this offer isn't as good, it's still a very decent saving on what is still a very good vacuum cleaner. The V11 has up to 60 minutes of run time, and it’s got an LCD screen to show you just how much battery life you’ve got left.

<p>The Good Guys have also listed the <a href="https://www.prf.hn/click/camref:1101ljjE9/pubref:hawk-custom-tracking/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thegoodguys.com.au%2Fdyson-v11-advanced-cordless-vacuum-479334-01">V11 Advanced for AU$675, but the price-beat option could score you slightly better discount.
Dyson V10 Cyclone Absolute
Save 50% (AU$650)
Dyson V10 Cyclone Absolute: was AU$1,299 now AU$649 at Dyson Australia

This older Dyson vacuum was down to AU$589 on Amazon in October 2024, but was selling for AU$749 through Black Friday 2024, so I suppose it's fair to say this is a decent deal on the V10. It offers fade-free power for up to 60 minutes, and this variant comes with a Fluffy cleaning head (not the one with the light as in the V15) and the Digital Motorbar to suit homes with mixed flooring. There are three additional attachments in the box, along with a wall dock.

Dyson 360 Vis Nav
Save 51% (AU$1,011)
Dyson 360 Vis Nav: was AU$1,999 now AU$988 at Dyson Australia

Dyson’s first robot vacuum cleaner to be available in Australia isn't bad, and it's the only robovac to use a side 'tongue' or scoop to suck up dust collected along room edges. While it's fine as a vacuum, there are better and more versatile options on the market these days. But hey, if you really want a Dyson robovac, I'm not one to judge.

Haircare tools

Dyson Supersonic Nural
Save 34% (AU$252)
Dyson Supersonic Nural: was AU$749 now AU$497 at Amazon

This hair dryer has a plethora of sensors that make sure your scalp remains healthy, automatically adjusting heat and airflow depending on how far away the dryer is from your head. You also get a bunch of magnetic attachments for a styled blow dry too – this hair dryer won a TechRadar Gadget of the Year Award in 2024, so it's well worth considering.

Dyson Airwrap i.d.
Save 18% (AU$152)
Dyson Airwrap i.d.: was AU$849 now AU$697 at JB Hi-Fi

I don't recall such a good discount on the new edition of the Airwrap multi-styler, but note that only a few of the colourways get this AU$150 saving. According to TechRadar's Home Editor, this is the best hair styler tool, hands down, with the curl.i.d switch being the game changer here. It's still an investment and I don't think this price will drop any further through the sale period.

Dyson Airstrait
Save 34% (AU$254)
Dyson Airstrait: was AU$749 now AU$495 at The Good Guys

Promising to take way less time to straighten hair than traditional flat irons by working just fine in wet hair, the Airstrait is the hair-care tool making headlines. It won't burn wet hair as other straighteners would, leaving you with less hair damage and a quicker styling session in the mornings.

Dyson Corrale
Dyson Corrale: was AU$699 now AU$547 at Amazon

While the Dyson Airstrait was busy making headlines, the older Corrale hair straightener is faded into the background. And yet, if you want a Dyson straightener that can work on even the tightest of curls, this would be it. It was 29% off on Amazon this time last year, but I wouldn't scoff at a smaller 22% saving. It's a heavy appliance, but it works cordlessly for a short time and even has an airplane mode that disconnects the battery while you're travelling. It also has a safety shut off that activates after about 10 or 15 minutes of inactivity.

Fans, heaters and air purifiers

Dyson Cool
Save 20% (AU$100)
Dyson Cool: was AU$499 now AU$399 at Dyson Australia

It might be a basic tower fan from Dyson, but it promises to cool the room down quickly by amping up its airflow. It comes with a handy remote control and there's a timer functionality too. A decent 20% discount gives it a more approachable price tag.

Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde
Save 27% (AU$400)
Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde: was AU$1,499 now AU$1,099 at Dyson Australia

It's big and its really quiet even at full bore, but this is arguably one heck of a purifying fan. In our Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde review, we said it works well in large, open spaces, but its price tag is quite prohibitive, even with this discount – it was half price last year for Black Friday – but it's unique enough and very effective to not list here.

Headphones

Dyson OnTrac
Save 50% (AU$400)
Dyson OnTrac: was AU$799 now AU$399 at JB Hi-Fi

We thought these cans were overpriced in our Dyson OnTrac review, but appreciated that the British brand has done a far better job on its second set of headphones than the Zone. While sound is lovely, there are others who do it better, but just being able to customise the headphones might well be worth the cash.

Dyson Zone
Save 74% (AU$519.05)
Dyson Zone: was AU$699 now AU$179.95 at eBay

It made the news for all the wrong reasons and, admittedly it's not the best idea Dyson had for headphones, but if you're the exception who is keen to try these... well, exceptional headphones with the purifying mask, it's going for really cheap on eBay.

Lighting

Dyson Solarcycle Morph desk lamp
Save 22% (AU$202)
Dyson Solarcycle Morph desk lamp: was AU$899 now AU$697 at MobileCiti Online

I tested this lamp and, although I thought it was overpriced, I couldn't help but admire it, calling it a "showstopper" in my Dyson Solarcycle Morph review. It was down to AU$698 around this time last year, so this ain't bad.

Best Black Friday deals on Dyson alternatives

Dyson vacuum dupes

Shark Cordless Vacuum with Self Cleaning Brushroll (IZ102)
Lowest price
Save 60% (AU$332)
Shark Cordless Vacuum with Self Cleaning Brushroll (IZ102): was AU$549 now AU$217 at Amazon

This popular budget vacuum cleaner is always a bestseller when discounted and this is its lowest price yet. We haven't tested it ourselves but user reviews are glowing. For quick and daily vacuuming, this is great and excellent value at this price – and I don't think it will get any cheaper.

Shark PowerDetect Cordless
Save 53% (AU$450)
Shark PowerDetect Cordless: was AU$849.99 now AU$399.99 at Shark Australia

It's the auto-emptying version of this cordless vacuum that I rank as the #1 best vacuum in Australia, but if you don't need that feature, this is arguably one of the best deals I can recommend on a powerful machine. You'll get up to 70 minutes of runtime, plus a bendy wand to get under furniture, and there's dynamic suction for the best clean possible.

Roborock F25 ACE
Save 45% (AU$450)
Roborock F25 ACE: was AU$999 now AU$549 at Roborock

This Roborock wet-dry vacuum will leave your hard floors sparkling clean thanks to powerful suction and effective cleaning. It can get up close to edges and the whole body can lay completely flat to help getting underneath tricky to reach places. This standout deal is equal to the lowest price we have seen.

Dyson Airwrap dupes

Shark FlexStyle (BYO bundle)
Save 29% (AU$100)
Shark FlexStyle (BYO bundle): was AU$349.99 now AU$249.99 at Shark Australia

It was the multi-styler that began the Airwrap-dupe trend and now it's slowly fading away from popularity with newer models from Shark itself and other competitors joining in. I use it myself and even though the Airwrap would be the better styler, I can't deny its overall value. In this package, Shark allows you to pick three attachments you'll need most (trust me, you won't use more than that), so you can build your own bundle.

Shark FlexStyle (Black Sparkle)
Save 30% (AU$150)
Shark FlexStyle (Black Sparkle): was AU$499.99 now AU$349.99 at Shark Australia

If you think three attachments aren't going to cut it and you want the whole shebang, the Black Sparkle limited-edition model is being discounted directly at Shark. It includes a carry case for the full kit, plus 6 attachments in total.

Kogan SalonPro
Save 37% (AU$55)
Kogan SalonPro: was AU$149.99 now AU$94.99 at Kogan

Kogan has also jumped on the Airwrap-dupe bandwagon with its own 7-in-1 SalonPro styler which comes with 7 attachments. This includes two condensers rather than the standard single unit in other packages. No one on my team has tried this yet, but it promises good things on a very tight budget, like fast drying, three temperature settings and three speeds. And much like the Shark FlexStyle that it resembles, the cord swivels a full 360º.

Award-winning hair dryer for less

Dyson Nural in a hand, with sign saying TechRadar Choice Awards 2024 Winner

I'm a little miffed that I never got to try Dyson's latest hair dryer – I heard such good things. Well, at first I thought it was just a lot of fanciful market-speak to headline a new and expensive Dyson product but turns out the British brand has done very well with the Supersonic Nural. My colleagues loved it so much that not only did it earn 4.5 stars in our Dyson Supersonic Nural review, but it also received a coveted TechRadar Choice Award 2024 as the Home Tech Device of the Year!

Let me list why:

  • This hair dryer knows when you put it down, and it will go into low-power mode after a mere second. As soon as you pick it up again, it will power back on.
  • A plethora of sensors ensure the right settings are applied depending on which attachment you use – no manual adjustments needed.
  • The sensors also adjust how hot or cold the airflow is based on how far the Nural is from your head to maintain what feels like a constant temperature on your scalp, thus protecting it.

Is it any wonder it costs AU$749 at full price?

However, the price of the fabulous hair dryer has dropped during every major sale since it was announced last year. And now it's a dollar less than last year's Black Friday price.

Dyson vacuum cleaner attachments – a quick guide

Motorbar cleaner head, Crevice tool and Mini motorized floorhead that accompany the Dyson V8 Cyclone vacuum

Dyson's range of vacuums is extensive, and that's despite the British brand discontinuing its upright and barrel vacuums in Australia. In fact, the cheapest and entry-level option is the Dyson V8 range.

Even within each generation there are multiple variations that have different names and tools. Thankfully the functionality doesn't change. How then do you decide which one is best for you? Because we understand navigating Dyson's ecosystem is a minefield, TechRadar's Homes Editor has put together a handy list of all the different attachments to make it easy for you to understand what each one does.

So make sure to check out our Dyson vacuum cleaner tools guide before buying a new machine during Black Friday so you know exactly what you're paying for.

Powerful suction at its lowest price yet

Dyson Gen5 Detect being used on carpet

If you ask me to recommend a Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner based on purely on suction, I'd have to go with the new V16 Piston Animal, with its industry-leading 315AW of power. However, if you ask me which Dyson vacuum has both suction and good value, I'll point you towards the Gen5Detect Absolute model going for its lowest price yet on eBay, thanks to a checkout code.

For AU$809, the Gen5Detect Absolute is good value for money, although keep in mind that this variant doesn't come with all the tools, and trust me when I say you don't need them all. You'll get the Digital Motorbar for carpets and the Fluffy Optic for hard floors, plus the Hair Screw Tool for beds, sofas, pet beds and even the car, as well as the usual Combination and Crevice attachments. Still plenty of versatility there.

You'll only miss out on a soft-bristle dusting brush, a gap tool and the free-standing dock, all of which are included in the Dyson-exclusive Gen5detect Complete variant currently selling for AU$949.

Are Dyson haircare tools worth it?

Woman using Dyson hair styler in Amber Silk colorway

I may not have reviewed every single product in Dyson's haircare range, but I have had the privilege of spending some time with most of them and, let me tell you, they are good. That goodness, however, comes at a high price, which mostly seems to go into paying off Dyson's R&D department. So it's fantastic news that the latest in Dyson haircare has seen some seriously significant price drops for Black Friday.

To answer the original question, though, it's a definite yes from me if you can make your budget stretch.

The Dyson Supersonic hairdryer started it all, releasing as Dyson's first haircare device in 2012, and it's a testament to how good it is that it's still popular in 2025. It offers supremely speedy drying times, convenient magnetic attachments and sleek results. Dyson followed it up with the newer Supersonic Nural, which not only won a coveted TechRadar Product of the Year Award in 2024, but is one of the best hair dryers available. It packs more smart features like Scalp Protection and the energy-saving low power mode. And considering it's dropped down to just AU$497 on Amazon, it's the better-value offer.

In case you missed it, the Dyson Airwrap was a hugely popular and virally successful multi-styler, with the brand releasing multiple new editions to accommodate different hair types and lengths. With the OG model now sunsetted, there's the Dyson Airwrap i.d. now gaining traction. While the overall design and the key specs remain the same in the new edition, the i.d. works with a companion app and has three new attachment options (which you'll need to purchase separately, by the way).

Some devices such the Dyson Airstrait is certainly innovative, but won't be a top pick for everyone. It works well for some specific hair types, typically medium thickness straighter or wavy hair that isn't too porous, but otherwise might not do the job as well as conventional ceramic plates. At least it saves you time by working on wet hair. Still, the lofty price tag makes it inferior to market-leading, traditional straighteners.

Long story short: if you're willing to pay a premium for styling your hair at home, I would easily recommend a Dyson haircare tool. However, there are plenty of dupes out there that could do a similar job without burning too big a hole in your pocket.

Light it up with Dyson

Dyson Solarcycle Morph Desk in Ambient mode

(Image credit: Sharmishta Sarkar / TechRadar)

The Dyson Solarcycle Morph is probably the British brand's least known device that I can't help but highlight.

It's an extremely expensive lamp, but in my Dyson Solarcycle Morph review, I called it a "showstopper" for good reason. Of course, the version I tested was the desk option, but Dyson does also make a floor lamp as well which costs more.

Even the desktop option is frustratingly expensive, but it looks to darn good! And it does everything it says on the tin – from circadian lighting to diffuse illumination through the stem.

If you have the cash to spare, though, it can be picked up for a dollar less than its 2024 Black Friday price.

Is Black Friday the best time to buy Dyson products?

Generally speaking, yes. And more so this year because the prices keep dropping – between Amazon, eBay and directly from Dyson, there are some seriously steep price drops happening already and it's even officially Black Friday yet!

A powerful Dyson V8 alternative

Person cleaning dirt with Shark PowerDetect Cordless vacuum on wood floor

The cheapest Dyson, as I've already said, doesn't cost a lot, but it may not represent good value for everyone.

If you're on a tight budget and need an alternative, look to Shark. For Black Friday, the base model PowerDetect Cordless, which retails for AU$849, is now under AU$400 directly from the SharkClean website. Now, that is good value. Here's why:

  • You get dynamic suction that the older V8 doesn't have
  • It's great for debris pickup, although the V8 holds its own on carpets
  • It has a higher-capacity onboard bin
  • Its battery goes for up to 70 minutes (compared to 40 minutes for the V8), and it can charge slightly quicker too

If you can manage to stretch your budget by AU$100 more than what the V8 Plus is going for currently, this would suit more people.

The cheapest Dyson this Black Friday

Dyson V8 Plus

Recent updates

UPDATE (November 15): This low price was so good that stock has now run out. The listing is still showing this discounted price, so Dyson might be able to restock soon.

If you're after the most affordable Dyson right now, that would be the V8 Plus model available from eBay. It's already listed at a discounted price, but an additional AU$50 will be shaved off at checkout with the code SAVENOV.

Now, it might be the cheapest Dyson, but it's by no means the best value. That's because it's older, so its suction doesn't match up with the newer models (FYI: there's a 2025 release of the Dyson V8 Cyclone that's really good, but costs more than this one).

So, who should buy this one?

Firstly, anyone on a very tight budget. It might not be the most powerful Dyson, but it can still hold its own.

Second, if you live in a small apartment that doesn't need long runtimes as this one will drain quicker than the advertised 40 minutes when using the Digital Motorbar cleaning head.

Who should avoid it? Pet owners who have carpeted floors and those who live in a large home.

The days are getting warmer (and humid), there are unseasonal thunderstorms in some part of the country... yes, summer is here and that ushers in the biggest shopping event of the calendar year. Black Friday has kicked off in Australia, and we're hunting down all the best Black Friday deals live for you.
