Marvel Phase 6: confirmed release dates and launch windows
Wonder Man
Release date: January 27, 2026
Confirmed cast: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Ben Kingsley, Arian Moayed, Zlatko Burić, X Mayo, Olivia Thrilby, and Byron Bowers
Wonder Man is an eight-part metatextual sitcom that follows Simon Williams, an actor who auditions for an in-universe remake of classic superhero movie 'Wonder Man' – and he may be more than a perfect fit for the role.
Marvel's Wonder Man show landed DCEU alumnus Abdul-Mateen II for the titular role in November 2022. Kingsley, who played Trevor Slattery in Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi, is this series' primary supporting cast member.

Trailer #1 was released in mid-October before a new Wonder Man teaser appeared to include a big story spoiler one month later. For more on its latest round of footage and other things you need to know ahead of release, read my dedicated Wonder Man guide.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2
Just announced at #NYCC: Marvel Television's #DaredevilBornAgain Season 2 is coming to @DisneyPlus March 2026! pic.twitter.com/AryDfPQ2qgOctober 11, 2025
Release date: March 4, 2026
Confirmed cast: Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Margarita Levieva, Krysten Ritter, Wilson Bethel, and more
The second season of Daredevil: Born Again isn't too far away now. At New York Comic-Con (NYCC) 2025, Marvel announced it'll air next March, before Disney's official press images website all but confirmed it'll arrive on March 4, 2026.
Picking up after last season's finale – read my Born Again season 1 ending explained piece for more details – it'll continue the battle for New York's soul between the titular vigilante and crime boss-turned-mayor Wilson Fisk. For more on its cast and likely plot, check out my official guide to Daredevil: Born Again season 2.
X-Men 97 season 2
Just announced at #NYCC: Marvel Animation's #XMen97 Season 2 is coming to @DisneyPlus Summer 2026! pic.twitter.com/ulilHWaiFeOctober 11, 2025
Release window: mid-2026
Expected cast: Ray Chase, Jennifer Hale, Alison Sealy-Smith, Cal Dodd, J.P. Karliak, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Holly Chou, Matthew Waterson, Ross Marquand, and more
With its first season ending on a cliff hanger – read my X-Men 97 season 1 ending explained article for more – a second season of X-Men 97 seemed inevitable.
And, while we've known it's been in development for some time, the X-Men's latest animated venture was not only confirmed to be in the works at NYCC 2025, but that it would arrive in mid-2026. A third season was also publicly announced at the same convention.
For more details on what to expect from the hit show's sophomore outing, read my dedicated guide on X-Men 97 season 2.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Release date: July 31, 2026
Confirmed cast: Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, and Tramell Tillman
Spider-Man 4 was originally going to swing into theaters on July 24, 2026. However, Brand New Day's release date was pushed back one week because Christopher Nolan's next film, The Odyssey, arrives around the same time.
Filming began in mid-2025 and, since the cameras began rolling, we've learned plenty about Tom Holland's next adventure as the iconic webslinger. Among the things I've covered are Spider-Man: Brand New Day's reported place on the MCU timeline, the unveiling of Holland's new Spider-Man suit, and a fair amount of BTS footage that show off the spectacular stunts we can expect from Spider-Man 4.
For a complete rundown of everything we know so far, read my dedicated Spider-Man: Brand New Day guide.
VisionQuest
Just announced at #NYCC: The trilogy that started with #WandaVision will conclude with Marvel Television's #VisionQuest, coming to @DisneyPlus in 2026. Learn more about the cast: https://t.co/fkXuSCDLKP pic.twitter.com/bDBuOXJ7GYOctober 11, 2025
Release window: expected mid- to late 2026
Confirmed cast: Paul Bettany, James Spader, James D'Arcy, Orla Brady, Emily Hampshire, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Ruaridh Mollica
The third and final installment of a TV show trilogy that also includes WandaVision and Agatha All Along, this Bettany-led production will reunite us with White Vision, who flew off to whereabouts unknown at the end of WandaVision.
An official launch date hasn't been revealed yet, but it's expected to arrive sometime in mid- to late 2026. The Marvel Phase 6 TV show's first teaser was shown at NYCC 2025 but, as of November 2025, is yet to be publicly released. For more on one of the more mysterious series coming from Marvel next year, my VisionQuest guide is full of the latest news and rumors.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2
Just announced at #NYCC: Marvel Animation's #YourFriendlyNeighborhoodSpiderMan Season 2 will swing onto @DisneyPlus Fall 2026! pic.twitter.com/CYgN8VLQn2October 11, 2025
Release window: late 2026
Expected cast: Hudson Thames, Colman Domingo, Grace Song, Zeno Robinson, and more
Another announcement made at NYCC 2025, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (YFNSM) will return for its sophomore season on Disney+ late next year.
Predictably, there are very few details on what its story will entail. However, based on how its debut season ended, there are plenty of story-based directions it can go in, and new and returning characters we'll see. I'll have an official guide on YFNSM season 2 soon, so keep your eyes peeled for a rundown on what we know so far in the near future.
Avengers: Doomsday
Release date: December 18, 2026
Confirmed cast: Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Sir Patrick Stewart, Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and more
Marvel's next big team-up movie was originally due out next May, but Avengers: Doomsday's release was delayed until December 2026 earlier this year.
Downey Jr, who played Iron Man between 2008 and 2019, will portray Doctor Victor von Doom, one of Marvel's most iconic villains and the new Big Bad of the Multiverse Saga. He'll be joined by a whole host of familiar faces, too, with a chair-based livestream in March revealing the initial 27-strong cast for Avengers: Doomsday.
Filming reportedly wrapped in September, and rumors have since spread that Avengers: Doomsday's first trailer will arrive this December, with the teaser expected to run ahead of public screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. For the very latest news and speculation on the next Avengers flick, check out my dedicated guide to Avengers: Doomsday.
Avengers: Secret Wars
Release date: December 17, 2027
Confirmed cast: TBC
The sixth Avengers movie's title hasn't changed since it was announced at Comic-Con 2019. According to industry insider Charles Murphy, principal photography may start on this Marvel Phase 6 movie in mid-2026
Unsurprisingly, there's very little information on Avengers: Secret Wars' cast and story specifics. Indeed, we won't know much, if anything, until we've all seen its forebear at our local multiplex or independent theater. Of course, things could leak online once filming gets underway but, until the cameras start rolling, we're none the wiser about how much inspiration Marvel's Secret Wars film will take from its comic book namesakes.
Marvel Phase 6: movies in development
Armor Wars
Release date: TBC
Expected cast: Don Cheadle
Originally billed as a TV show, Armor Wars has been retooled as a movie, with Yassir Lester (Black Monday) writing the script.
Cheadle has regularly played down – albeit jokingly – that Armor Wars isn't an official MCU project (per The Today Show and TVLine), while Lester (via MovieWeb) has even suggested that its development status shifts on a day-to-day basis, so it's unclear if it'll ever get made.
If it is, it should pick up events from Secret Invasion's finale, given what we learned about Rhodey (or what fans have fiercely debated about him, anyway) in that series.
Blade
Release date: TBC
Expected cast: Mahershala Ali and Mia Goth
After his off-screen Eternals cameo, Blade was expected to get an R-rated MCU movie.
However, with so many issues affecting its development, nobody really knows what's going on with Marvel's Blade movie. After reports that Blade had been delayed indefinitely last November, Marvel President Kevin Feige told Brazilian outlet omelete.com that Marvel was "committed to Blade". However, a recent report from Variety indicated that Marvel isn't in a rush to make the film and will only move forward with it if it feels right to do so.
For his part, Ali, who's still expected to star as the titular vampire hunter, still wants to play the vampiric anti-hero (per Variety). Goth, who was heavily rumored to be playing Blade's lead villain, is also open to being involved (per Elle magazine) in whatever Blade's next big-screen adventure actually is
Marvel Phase 6: TV shows in development
Marvel Zombies season 2
Release date: TBC
Expected cast: TBC
With season 1 of Marvel Zombies releasing on Disney+ in September, attentions have quickly turned to the prospect of a follow-up, especially after last season's cliff hanger.
Per comicbook.com, a second season outline has been prepared ahead of the show's potential renewal. If it gets the greenlight, showrunner Bryan Andrews has said (via the Phase Hero podcast) that it might star Bucky Barnes, who was conspicuous by his absence in its debut installment.
Nova
Release date: TBC
Expected cast: TBC
A Nova project is in the works, with Feige telling ComicBook.com it'll focus on the Richard Rider version of the cosmic superhero. Speaking to Collider, Marvel's Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation Brad Winderbaum teased it'll be a cross between Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica, while Deadline seemingly confirmed it'll be a Disney+ show.
In March, development has been paused on Nova, with Winderbaum saying (via the Phase Hero podcast): "When we develop something, the material might be great, but the timing might be wrong… we’re only going to make things we feel are ready and can go on for multiple seasons". It's unclear, then, if and when we'll see Nova.
