Get ready, everyone, because Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will make its Disney+ bow in March 2026. And, with the release date for the Marvel TV show's sophomore season seemingly being leaked online by the comic book giant's parent company, we might even have a confirmed launch date for its return.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 release month

At New York Comic-Con (NYCC) 2025, Marvel announced Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will premiere in March 2026.

We already knew that would be the case, though, with showrunner Dario Scardapane previously confirming that Born Again's second season would land on Disney+ next March.

It appears we have an actual release date for the show's return, too, with Disney's official press images website suggesting it'll debut on March 4, 2026. Sure, this could be a placeholder but, with season 2 only four months away, it's safe to assume this is when the Marvel Phase 6 TV series will return.

Is there a trailer for Daredevil: Born Again season 2?

Yes, but it hasn't been released publicly. NYCC 2025 attendees were treated to an exclusive look at this season's first trailer, but I suspect it'll be a while before it receives its worldwide premiere.

Once it lands on Marvel's various social channels, I'll update this section.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 cast: confirmed and rumored

Spoilers follow for Daredevil: Born Again season 1.

Here's the likely cast for Daredevil: Born Again season 2:

  • Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil
  • Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk
  • Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn
  • Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page
  • Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Pointdexter/Bullseye
  • Zabryna Guevara as Sheila Rivera
  • Nikki M. James as Kristen McDuffie
  • Genneya Walton as B.B. Urich
  • Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman
  • Clark Johnson as Cherry
  • Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blake
  • Ayelet Zuhrer as Vanessa Fisk
  • Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher
  • Camila Rodriguez as Angela del Toro
  • Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones
  • Susan Varon as Josie
  • Royce Johnson as Brett Mahoney
  • Matthew Lilliard as Mister Charles
  • Lili Taylor as TBC

The biggest casting news about one of the best Disney+ shows' next installment is Ritter returning as Jessica Jones, aka the superpowered private investigator she portrayed in Netflix's Marvel TV Universe.

Given Daredevil: Born Again season 1 was more closely aligned to Daredevil's Netflix series following the latter's creative overhaul, it was a case of when, not if, Jones and other characters from Netflix's Marvel-Verse would join the titular vigilante in making the leap to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Speaking to The Playlist, Ritter revealed she's known she'd be back as Jones for over two years, so her return has been a long time coming.

Of course, that raises the question about other heroes from Netflix's Marvel-Verse appearing in Born Again.

Mike Colter, who played Luke Cage in Netflix's aforementioned franchise, has stoked the fires over reprising the Harlem-based, bulletproof character. Indeed, he told Edmonton Expo attendees (per the Marvel Updates X/Twitter fan account): "I don’t know why people keep asking me this [returning as Cage]. There’s no signs. It’s not like they’ve just recently revived one of the Marvel Netflix shows...". Something something no smoke without fire etcetera, eh?

Elsewhere, Elden Henson's return as Franklin 'Foggy' Nelson has been a big talking point since last season ended, especially as he was seemingly killed by Bullseye in Born Again's first episode.

Following the show's two-episode premiere, Marvel fans theorized that Foggy may still be alive. Some pointed out that Nelson's apparent death was eerily similar to how he faked his own demise in an Ed Brubaker-written Daredevil comic series in the mid-2010s, which Born Again is loosely based on.

Speaking to Phase Hero's Brandon Davis prior to season 1's debut, Marvel's Head of TV, Animation, and Streaming Brad Winderbaum confirmed Elden Henson would return in season 2. Winderbaum doubled-down on those comments at NYCC 2025 (per Entertainment Weekly (EW)) despite Henson playing down his own return numerous times between seasons.

It's unclear what capacity 'Foggy' will return in. However, with Cox telling On The Red Carpet that he filmed a 2015 flashback scene for season 2 alongside an unnamed actor, it's possible that individual is Henson.

On the newcomer front, Matthew Lilliard (Five Nights at Freddy's, Scooby Doo) is on board as someone known as Mister Charles. Winderbaum told EW that Lilliard's character is" a bit of a new antagonist on the field" and is "as influential, in many ways, as Fisk is" on the political stage.

Meanwhile, Lili Taylor is reportedly due to play a New York governor who'll be a rival of Fisk's (per Rural Intelligence). Elsewhere, Born Again stuntman Naqam Washington has implied Royce Johnson will reprise his role as Brett Mahoney from Daredevil's Netflix adaptation.

Lastly, Cox has indicated (via The Hollywood Reporter (THR)) that other MCU characters might cameo in season 2. That follows Ms. Marvel's dad having a substantial supporting role in season 1 episode 5, so place your bets now on who could show up.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 plot details

Full spoilers follow for Daredevil: Born Again season 1.

Born Again season 2's story synopsis hasn't been revealed yet. However, based on how its predecessor ended – read my Daredevil: Born Again season 1 ending explained piece for more – and what its cast has teased, there's plenty we can read into its plot.

For starters, Cox has hyped up this season's narrative, telling Collider that it's "some of my favorite stuff I've read". D'Onofrio also told journalists (per IGN) that he "had to have a little cry about" this season's scripts due to the emotional impact they'll have on viewers.

Those quotes are telling in light of season 2's "resistance story", Scardapane told TVInsider. Indeed, last season's finale revealed Matt Murdock and Karen Page had co-founded an underground resistance movement that'll fight Fisk's fascist regime to regain control of New York's streets.

We already have a sense of how they'll start to do so, too. In March, first-look images for season 2 images appeared online that showed Murdock and Page wearing disguises (or what passes for a disguise in the MCU). Clearly, they're scoping out something or someone, or they're on the hunt for new allies to join their cause.

That won't be the only costume overhaul Murdock will get. As leaked images posted on X/Twitter (see above) revealed, he'll sport Daredevil's classic black suit, complete with its red-colored 'DD' logo on the chest, next season. In November, another Daredevil: Born Again season 2 leak gave us a much better look at the Marvel hero's new outfit, too.

Season 2 will also result in a new crisis of faith for Murdock. Chatting to Collider, Cox said Murdock will "no longer trust [his] instincts and be clear-minded about what the next right step is, so he questions a lot. He kind of backtracks a bit. He’s clearly unsure and finding that he has to take gambles and hope that he’s making the right choice."

Luckily, Murdock has Page back by his side. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly (EW), Scardapane suggested their bond will be more important than ever, adding: "Karen Page is the heart and soul of Matt Murdock's world, and even more so now that Foggy is not part of that trio. You can tell at the end of the season, she's the one telling him to be wrath, you have to be mercy, you have to be there for your city. The idea of her and him moving forward into a dangerous time in New York, yeah, she's a huge part of it."

A demasked Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home

Tom Holland's Spider-Man won't appear in season 2 (Image credit: Sony Pictures/Marvel Entertainment)

One hero who's seemingly destined not to join Daredevil's cause (on the small screen, anyway) is Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

There were references to Spider-Man in Born Again episode 2 and Daredevil: Born Again episode 3. However, Sony Pictures owns the live-action rights to the webslinger, so, unless Marvel strikes an expensive deal with the tech giant's entertainment division, the chances of Peter Parker popping in to help take down Fisk are effectively zero.

Nonetheless, Winderbaum has revealed (per EW) that Daredevil: Born Again season 2 and Spider-Man 4 are connected in some way. "We are communicating a lot with the team on Spider-Man: Brand New Day to make sure that there's coherence there. We don't want to spoil anything, but it very much exists in the same world and it is important."

Interestingly, that slightly contradicts what Marvel President Kevin Feige previously said about events transpiring in MCU movies won't impact and/or be referenced in their TV counterparts. For example, when asked if what happens in Thunderbolts*, whose finale takes place in New York, will affect Born Again season 2, Feige simply said: "No".

So, while you shouldn't expect Murdock, Fisk, and company to mention The Void's all-black dimension that briefly consumed part of New York in Thunderbolts' third act, it's possible that this season's story and Brand New Day will either run concurrently or impact the other's narrative. However, Cox has once again played down suggestions that he'll appear in Spider-Man 4, telling the Phase Hero podcast's Brandon Davis: "I'm not in Spider-Man". Sure, Charlie, we believe you...

Will there be a third season of Daredevil: Born Again?

Yes. Winderbaum confirmed (via IGN) that a third season has been greenlit. Per Collider, producer Jesse Wigutow also suggested principal photography will begin in early 2026 and Wilson Bethel told fans at Spacecon 2025 that Bullseye is part of its cast (thanks to Nerdtropolis for the footage).

There'll be at least one Daredevil: Born Again offshoot coming to Disney+, aka one of the world's best streaming services, too.

A special presentation starring Frank Castle/The Punisher will, per THR, be released sometime next year. It's been co-written by Bernthal and We Own This City director Reinaldo Marcus Green, was filmed earlier this year, and may run parallel to Born Again season 2's story.

As I mentioned earlier, Marvel may look to revisit characters from Netflix's Defenders-Verse, too. Speaking to ComicBook.com, Winderbaum intimated it was "inevitable" that Cage and Danny Rand/Iron Fist would make their MCU debuts. In conversation with EW, Scardapane added these "iconic characters are always in your mind", so a new Defenders project could also be in the works.
