Roku and Amazon Fire TV 4K streaming sticks have unmissable early Black Friday deals – here are the best buys
Get the streaming you've been dreaming of for less
Some of the best Black Friday deals aren't on massively expensive products; they're the deals that take useful gadgets into "oh hell yeah" territory. And that's the case with these streaming stick deals – two US and one UK – because they make already keenly priced streaming dongles even cheaper.
There are two key models on offer here: the Roku Streaming Stick Plus 4K is down to $29 at Walmart, while the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Plus is just $24.99 (was $49.99) at Amazon.
In the UK, you can get the same Roku Streaming Stick Plus 4K for £24.99 (down from £39.99) at Argos. We're still waiting on Fire TV deals to arrive in the UK.

Amazon always discounts its own-brand devices for Black Friday, so this discount isn't exactly surprising – but it is very welcome, because it's a huge 50% off one of the more powerful Fire TV sticks. This delivers 4K UHD with Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG, Dolby Atmos and Wi-Fi 6. You can buy Fire TV sticks for even less than this, but we wouldn't: this is just $3 more expensive than the next cheapest model and it gives you better WiFI, better audio and better app support.
Roku's budget streaming stick was already a great buy – in our review we said it delivered a clean, easy to navigate interface and was "ideal for someone on a budget or who wants a streamer that can tuck behind a mounted TV". And now it's even more of a bargain with a Black Friday deal that drops it below the thirty dollar mark. If you're looking for low-cost, no-frills streaming this is an excellent option.

This is a cracking discount on Roku's already-affordable streamer, and it takes the price from nearly £40 to a smidge below £25. That's exceptionally cheap for a streaming dongle and it also adds Bluetooth so you can stream from your TV to your wireless headphones. As you'd expect it comes with all the key streaming apps including iPlayer, All4, Netflix, YouTube and more.
Both sticks deliver 4K with Dolby Atmos audio and HDR10+, but they're aimed at slightly different buyers.
The Roku is an entry-level streamer that's ideal for bringing TVs into the streaming era, and its tiny size means it's also really well suited to TV setups where there isn't much space to stick anything behind them.
I think the mid-range Fire TV Stick 4K Plus is a better option for more demanding viewers thanks to its improved performance and Dolby Vision HDR support too.
