The Hulu free trial is still going strong! This 30 day introductory offer is by far the best way to sample the thousands of award-winning TV shows and movies on Hulu. The service has even reintroduced a trial for its Live TV plan, too, but that's temporarily on hold due to a limited-time deal that's available.

First of all, head to the Hulu website via your web browser or the Hulu app on your preferred device. You'll be taken to their homepage, which looks like the above, giving you the option to sign up for one of the many Hulu bundles available. Click the option to 'Try Hulu Free For One Month'.

Choose your Hulu plan

If you didn't already select the option to try Hulu for free on the homepage, then you can also scroll down to where it says 'Select Your Plan' to choose the Hulu (with ads) plan. The free trial offer doesn't apply to bundles or promotions and is not available for the Hulu 'Premium' plan at the time of writing, so you can only choose Hulu (with ads).

Log in or sign up to Hulu with your email address

Once you've selected the Hulu (with ads) plan, the next page prompts you to either continue with a log in or create a Hulu account. If you are making a new account, you will need to set up a password and provide your personal information.

The email address and password you use when signing up for Hulu will also be your MyDisney login. MyDisney allows you to use one email address and password to log in to services across The Walt Disney Family of Companies.

Enter your billing information

Hulu will then ask you to provide your billing information to finish setting up your account, where you will need a valid credit card to start your Hulu free trial. After you've done this, you can enjoy up to 30 days of Hulu for free.

You won't be charged until after the trial period ends, but if you don't want to continue with the service and get charged, simply cancel your subscription before your trial expires.

How long does a Hulu free trial last for?

A Hulu free trial let's you enjoy a whole 30-days without paying a thing. There was a time once when you could also enjoy a 7-day free trial of its Hulu with Live TV plan, but this option disappeared when the Disney+ bundle was added to the Live TV plans at no extra cost. While the free trial offer hasn't been removed, it won't be available again until a promotional offer expires on November 18, 2025.

The limited-time discount on the Live TV bundle plan is one of the best streaming deals you can get at the time of writing, as it brings down the cost of Hulu with Live TV, Disney+ and ESPN Select from $89.99 to just $64.99 per month for three months. When subscribing to the Live TV package, you'll also unlock other premium features like the ability to download content to watch later on Hulu and Disney+.

If you don't want live TV but do want Hulu bundled in with the other two streaming services, then another one of the best streaming deals around is the Hulu and Disney+ (and ESPN Select if you feel so inclined) bundle from just $12.99 a month. Of course, you will miss out on the Hulu free trial when opting for this plan, though.

With a price increase of $7 per month introduced on October 21 (making the bundle $89.99 per month), you'll want to act fast! Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Select access are also included but be aware that this bundle does include ads.

What is the cheapest way to get Hulu after the free trial?

There are two main Hulu plan options if you're looking to get a subscription after your free trial ends. You can either get Hulu's most popular 'With Ads' plan for $11.99 a month or its more expensive 'No Ads' plan for $18.99 a month – if those prices seem different to you, it's because there was a price hike on October 17, 2025 – Disney had raised prices at the exact same time in 2024.

However, if you're after greater value for money, then signing up for one of the many bundles can be much more cost effective than getting separate subscriptions. The most popular is by far the Hulu and Disney+ bundle (details below), but the aforementioned Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN Select package also gets you access to three streaming platforms, all with extensive libraries, for a really great price of $19.99 a month.

If you're looking for more Hulu bargains, check out our pick of the best streaming deals. However, if you can wait till November, then it is often the best time of year to get a discounted Hulu subscription – make sure to check our Black Friday Hulu deals guide closer to the time.

Disney+ and Hulu annual ad-supported plan: $21.98$12.99 at Hulu and Disney+

Disney+ and Hulu annual ad-supported plan: was $21.98 per month now $12.99 at Hulu and Disney+
To subscribe to Disney+ and Hulu's ad-supported plans separately would normally cost just under $22 dollars a month for a bundle, but you can get them both for $12.99 a month, representing a saving of 40% on separate annual plans. Sadly, you'll have to watch commercials on both streaming services, but with a saving of over $100 on offer compared to if you bought both services separately, we suspect you'll think it's a price worth paying. This is the usual bundle saving to be clear.

Are there any other ways to get a Hulu free trial?

If you're in the market for a new phone contract, T-Mobile offers Hulu (with ads) for a whole year with any of its Experience Beyond and Go5G Next plans. A Hulu subscription is automatically added to your plan as an added benefit.

There's also the option of signing up to one of Verizon's 5G mobile plans. If you've got a 'GetMore or PlayMore' account, then you'll be eligible to get the Hulu (with ads), Disney+ Premium (without ads) and ESPN Select (with ads) bundle at no extra charge.

Eligible college and university students can also sign up for Spotify Premium for Students where you can get Hulu (with ads) for a 50% reduced rate. Spotify Premium for Students is free for one month, then it's just $5.99 a month after that.

How do I cancel my Hulu free trial?

If you don't want to continue your Hulu subscription after your free trial, you can cancel it (just make sure you do so before your trial expires so that you're not charged!)

Here's how to cancel your Hulu free trial:

  • Go to the Hulu website
  • Click your name in the top right corner
  • Select 'Account' from the menu
  • Scroll down to the 'Cancel Your Subscription' section and press 'Cancel'
  • Skip the 'Pause Subscription' page by clicking 'Continue To Cancel'
  • Enter a reason why you want to cancel and continue
  • You may be offered one free month of Hulu, but if you still want to cancel press 'Cancel Subscription'

How has the Hulu price changed over time?

Compared to rivals, Hulu has seen one of the steepest climbs in cost since launching, making it one of the most expensive streaming services to choose from at the time of writing.

While it originally launched at $9.99 a month, it quickly lowered that price to $7.99, which it stayed at for many years. In fact, Hulu lowered its prices again in 2019, making it the only streamer to have actually decreased costs. That has since changed, with Hulu prices rising sharply since 2024.

It's been a similar story for Hulu's ad-free plan, which has steadily increased after its 2015 introduction. However, Hulu's Live TV plan has seen the biggest and fastest jump in prices by far; more than doubling from $39.99 in 2017 to $88.99 in 2025. Take a look at the historical prices for Hulu below.
