AirPods Pro 2 are down to a new record-low price, and I'd choose them over the AirPods Pro 3 this Black Friday
Apple's AirPods Pro 2 may have been replaced by the newer AirPods Pro 3, but actually, it might be the old version you want to buy during sales season this year, thanks to their ridiculously low new price. You can now get AirPods Pro 2 for just $139 (MSRP $249) at Walmart in the US, while in the UK, you can get AirPods Pro 2 for £169 (RRP £229) at Amazon UK.

This is the lowest price we've ever seen in either country, and while the US price is a more spectacular discount, both sales make these earbuds a huge bargain. I've tested the AirPods Pro 2 against the newer AirPods Pro 3 since the latter launched in September 2025, and at these prices, I think I'd take the older model over the new one – at least, I would while stocks last. Apple has stopped making the AirPods Pro 2 now, so who knows how long these offers will be available.
Today's best AirPods Pro 2 deal in the US
This is the lowest price we've ever seen for the AirPods Pro 2, and it's an astounding value for earbuds this good. They sound superb, they have high-tier noise cancellation, they have an unlosable case, and they have the newer Live Translation and hearing aid features that also feature on AirPods Pro 3 – these are only missing the heart-rate sensors of the new model in terms of major features.

This is £10 cheaper than we've ever seen AirPods Pro 2 available for before. In the UK, the price difference between these and AirPods Pro 3 is much closer than in the UK – the newer model are £50 more at £219 – but I think a lot of people will be more than happy with the sound quality and noise cancellation of these models, and £50 left in your wallet. And they have practically all the same features as AirPods Pro 3, except for the heart-rate sensors.
Should you buy these AirPods Pro 2 instead of the AirPods Pro 3?
That's a very good question, and we wrote an entire feature to answer it. The tl;dr version is that the AirPods Pro 2 are very good, and the AirPods Pro 3 are slightly better but, right now, notably more expensive. They're very similar in design (the AirPods Pro 2 are fractionally lighter and have a softer in-ear tip that some may prefer), and they both have the same H2 chip powering them.
The newer model gets better battery life, adds heart-rate tracking, and has improved noise cancellation, but actually aren't too different overall.
In our updated AirPods Pro 2 review we gave the earbuds 4.5 out of 5 stars for their impressive noise cancelling, "super" sound and Spatial Audio quality, and their "great" Active Transparency mode: commenting on the launch of the refreshed USB-C model, which is the one Amazon is offering, we said that "compared to new releases, they still hold their own for audio prowess, and the noise cancellation is only just behind the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 2."
In our AirPods Pro 3 review, we also scored the new model 4.5 stars, and raved about the improved noise cancellation, and our Audio Editor Becky Scarrott prefers the in-ear fit of the new firmer ear tips.
Having tried both, my opinion is that the differences between the two are subtle enough that if you don't mind having shorter battery life in the earbuds or missing out on heart-rate tracking, then saving some money on the old model is maybe the most sensible choice – especially for this low a price.
